Why do so many trans rights activists have a pathological loathing for the wider public having greater access to all the facts about transition? Are increased awareness and understanding not fundamental to securing acceptance & support for any minority?

The problem is that it is not a panacea for all. There is a compulsion to carry it out regardless of the consequences. Many of these people need protecting from themselves. That’s a hard message to hear when you have determined this is a solution.
