How many detransitioners or desisters would be enough to matter or be worth studying, in your view? Obviously, more study is needed, which is exactly what Dr. Littman plans to do.

1/ It's not evidence-based to say, "look at this YouTube video of a detransitioner" and then base major medical policy on such an anecdote. The highest rate I've seen is a 5% detransition rate.

2/ I acknowledge that there are detransitioners and believe that they deserve to be heard. But it seems odd to focus on less than 5% of the transition population and not mention the over 95% of transitioners who are happy with the outcome.

What's odd is the push to rush kids on puberty blockers and HRT. What's odd is how broad and vague the diagnosis for gender dysphoria is. What's odd is how often I've interviewed detransitioners to find out - they have internalized homophobia, trauma, or an eating disorder. 1/4

There definitely is a happy ending for SOME that do transition and I'm part of that group. However, my experience doesn't speak for all. There is obviously an issue and most would rather ignore it as they feel its going to invalidate their experience. 2/4

More often than not it seems those that detrans are coming out after being on HRT during their teens. This should speak volumes to anyone with a brain. What kind of "happy" ending is left for those that detransition and are stuck with irreversible changes? 3/4

What kind of support/help do they get? We're quick to support medical help for those that transition but quick to shut the door on those that want to reverse any changes they got. No group should matter more. Finally, I'll say this - whats happening right now in regards to

detransitioners leads to a bigger conversation that so-called "medical experts" like Dr.Turban should be curious enough to investigate. Why are so many young girls suffering from internalized homophobia, eating disorder, body dysmorphia, gender dysphoria, etc.

What can we do to help? It's evident there are diff levels of dysphoria and having ONE treatment for all is negligence. We need more research/studies for not just the detrans issue but on transsexuals. Why is it not worth understanding how dysphoria impacts us all more???

This is so important. He really needs to comment on this. My guess is that it will derail his life’s work (to date) and he will have to admit that mistakes were made in the name of his pediatric transition crusade...

Instead of acknowledging sincere appeals from Mars and us, for some unfathomable reason Dr. T spends his time going after the one researcher who is trying to study this population in a formal manner.
