Interestingly, another trans activist, older and more experienced than Jones, pointed out yesterday that the puberty blocker alternatives Jones wrote about not only might be dangerous--but wouldn't in any case be appropriate for adolescents.pic.twitter.com/mMQNnIC6Ba
Here's an excerpt from Jones "advice" article, which Jones continued to push yesterday for "trans adolescents" about MPA, the drug Oatc called "very bad indeed."pic.twitter.com/kRzrjlWT7Z
To recap: For over 2 years, Zinnia Jones' Twitter account & website have actively promoted the idea that minors should obtain cheaper alternatives to puberty blockers--drugs that a more knowledgeable trans activist calls "very bad indeed." Here's Jones on Twitter yesterday:pic.twitter.com/mDu8pUc0WG
Why does this matter? Because Zinnia Jones has been given an undeserved platform as some sort of expert on "trans youth," including in such respected publications as @TheAtlantic .https://twitter.com/4th_WaveNow/status/1015999893087903746?s=20 …
Here's Zinnia Jones' article on "low cost alternatives to puberty blockers for trans adolescents" in all its archived glory. http://archive.is/AK45J
Three minutes ago, in the same thread with @jk_rowling . Why should Jones' voice be listened to when discussing female detransitioners, any more than Jones' pontificating about hazardous drugs minors should use behind their parent's backs?pic.twitter.com/azMgix0Vh4
Wow, that article is cracked out!! I've got some things to say in response: Disrupting puberty is incredibly risky, no matter what drug is used. Puberty is a critical time period for physical maturation. So interrupting that process --
is very likely to result in cognitive deficits, mood disturbances, bone weakening, sexual dysfunction, and of course -- impaired fertility. MPA (Depo-Provera) is a birth control method. It's kind of odd that Jones advertises this as an alternative to GNRHa's...
this zinnia jones person sounds incredibly cool
If cool means dangerous to humankind, yes. Don't be a wally.
