Things have changed. The "persisters" in studies before the trend took hold were definitely mostly LGB (see: Amsterdam studies), while "desisters" were not. The sharp rise in heterosexual teen transitioners on the autism spectrum or with other issues is (relatively) recent.

This is so hard to determine. Some kids seem like straight girls w/ eating disorders. Others are certainly B/L. I worry that the highly non-conforming kids claiming a trans identity are 'more believable' as trans & therefore parents don't contact clinicians like me as frequently.

The kind of data we should have for gender dysphoric youth, that we don't have at the moment, is the # over time of girls/boys with 1. eating disorders 2. heterosexual vs LGB 3. ASD 4. psychiatric diagnoses... 5. highly gnc...
