im not really sure what this even has to do with what i was saying, i agree with you that our federal government is extremely incompetent but my points were about the media bias against people who believe we should make opening the economy a priority

It has to do with you pointing out that many people are suffering financially. They need relief NOW. Even if the economy re-opens, a significant portion of the population won't feel to safe to patronize hair salons, restaurants, theatres etc. if there is no vaccine or treatment.

i agree relief should be triaged, and people who are in desparate states should get relief from the government, but that can only go on so long if the economy as a whole is at a stand still. there is a pretty effective treatment already being implemented with great success rates

i mean, i should have phrased that differently but the media landscape is impossible to navigate and there are tons of articles claiming HC+AZ+zinc are ineffective, due to small non-randomized trials, but there is plenty of anecdotal evidence from doctors in the field claiming

Jury still out. Will be awhile before clinical trials complete; there are potentially severe side effects. Even if it (or something else) does prove effective, we're months away from mass production & reassuring public it's safe to resume "normal life." https://covid19treatmentguidelines.nih.gov/therapeutic-options-under-investigation/ …

oh i totally agree, im under no impression that everything is going to be normal soon. ALL i am saying is that we should listen to people if they are struggling, and try to compromise in ways that i believe we can, to minimize the economic fall out being worse than covid itsself.

Gradual, staged re-opening with social distancing restrictions... Differing by state (or even county/city) depending on what the situation is in that area. Testing and assiduous contact tracing when outbreaks do occur.

Not much of a fan of AEI in general, but Dr. Gottlieb is a sane, balanced voice (and knows his stuff). Check out this plan. He's a good person to follow on Twitter on this issue too. https://www.aei.org/research-products/report/national-coronavirus-response-a-road-map-to-reopening/ …
