Last October we asked why a pastor who routinely preaches about "debased" gays & lesbians was invited to write an endorsement for a guide aimed at parents of dysphoric youth. 6 months later, one of the guide sponsors (WolF) continues to attack us for questioning that endorsement. https://twitter.com/briejnm/status/1252255152083361795 …

To be clear: Neither Brie nor anyone at 4thWaveNow personally attacked anyone. We questioned allying with (& seeking approval from) orgs like Family Policy Alliance, Family Research Council, & their spokespeople who preach that homosexuality is a sin (& lobby accordingly).

Also: We've been accused of ONLY caring about LGB youth. The 4thWaveNow accounts have covered the impact on those w/ autism or struggling with other issues since 2015, so let's dispense with that BS (leaving aside the fact that one can be LGB as well as having other challenges).

We've also been told everyone should politely pretend not to notice the flaming homophobia of some fighting pediatric transition; that we can "deal with those issues later." Sexual orientation struggles are CENTRAL to why some kids decide they're trans. There is no "later."

Our concerns about anti-gay orgs have been dismissed as "just politics" or "political purity." That accusation would carry weight with differences on unrelated political issues (say, climate change), but the impact of the Age of the Trans Child on LGB youth cannot be waved away.

Another person asked to write an endorsement paragraph for the Parent Guide is Peter Sprigg, of the Family Research Council. (See page 5 at this link). What's the problem, you ask? https://genderresourceguide.com/wp-content/themes/genderresource/library/documents/NPRG_Full_Document_Links_V18.pdf …pic.twitter.com/WFjoUBkyUE

Sprigg's views are laid out clearly on the FRC website. Among other things, he has said homosexuals should be "exported" from the US since they're "destructive to society." Most ppl know how to google. Why ask someone like Sprigg to write front material?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S6JuKnXJGTc&feature=youtu.be …

Another person invited to write an endorsement: Jeff Johnston, an "ex-gay" with Focus on the Family. Again: Many detransitioners point to their struggle to accept themselves as LGB. Some were rejected by parents who regarded them as disgusting, or sinful. https://genderresourceguide.com/wp-content/themes/genderresource/library/documents/NPRG_Full_Document_Links_V18.pdf …pic.twitter.com/MPUS9yt5MA

No, Johnston's views as an ex-gay aren't highlighted in the Parent Guide, but parents reading it certainly know how to look up information about the apparent authorities featured in the first few pages of the Guide.https://www.focusonthefamily.com/contributors/jeff-johnston/ …
