Why couldn't the US Congress pass a one-page bill authorizing $1200 to every US adult, $500 for every child, and leave the haggling over other issues for a subsequent bill? (Current draft is over 1000 pages.) We are going to have food riots if they don't do something. #COVID19

I have long believed that the longer one "serves" in Congress, the less connected to reality one becomes. How else can they "write" 1500 page bills that they vote on without reading, flinging around BILLIONS of dollars for God alone knows what?
