Isn't the fatality rate down to the nature of the bite when pits ARE aggressive? Have read the hang-on-and-rip-to-shreds bite of the pit IS genetically determined, so even if they bite rarely, the bite is often catastrophic.
...which makes clear they are inherently a dangerous breed, even if owners are responsible.
