This is a good idea. If nothing else, the plaintiffs’ bar would back it, and they’ve got a good bit of influence in many states. (More lefty states tend to be more plaintiff-friendly, if anything, which could cut into some of the ideological opposition.)

I agree it would likely be more broadly supported. But in the end, in order to pass, the language of such laws would likely be written so as to favor the wealthier interests. And no amount of money can compensate for loss of sexual function/fertility and lifelong health problems.
