Can I ask where you are? Is one of your senators the most powerful Trump defender in the senate? Do you have abortion rights in your state? Do you have the medicaid expansion or are poor folks dropping dead, like here? This is life and death, we can't support Graham, ever.

protect the kids is uppermost--we do not transition healthy bodies Besides: : 1. all psychiatric conditions have report of contemplating suicide 2. kids coached to scream suicide, 3. talk therapy = best for suicide threat 4. suicide rate increases post transitioning

You're preaching to the converted. The issue is how to preach to the UNCONVERTED. Changing hearts and minds wasn't done by social conservatives when it came to gay marriage. It's mystifying so many people fervently believe the very same politicians will do it for child transition

If anyone is to get real traction, it's the people who themselves underwent medical transition & say they were harmed. Amplify their voices so they can be heard over the din of the Culture War. Most want nothing to do with the same politicians who see homosexuality as a sin.

Agree.. all that moralistic Nancy Reagan "just say no" horseshit went nowhere. But people actually "witnessing"and talking about what addiction did to them *personally* is always the more effective thing. People in recovery always usually directly inspired by actions of another.

Politics is about the possible. Obama caught a lot of shit for how watered down the ACA was, but given death-grip of insurance industry, it was best Dems could get at time. A law to slow down peds transition might change minds, but throwing your kid's MD in jail? Not so much.

Also, many proponents of the bills being introduced by conservative lawmakers have ignored the exceptions for intersex surgeries in the proposed legislation. But they haven't gone unnoticed by the media or trans-activists.pic.twitter.com/XS8Wp1v4yt

Why in the world is it necessary or proper to allow any surgery, hormones, puberty blockers, or any such treatment for a mental disorder--especially for minors? Obviously, exceptions can be made for birth defects, but none should ever be made to allow butchery or poisoning.

There is an established, heavily funded lobby which includes parents of "trans kids" who beg to differ. They believe med transition will save their lives. While you or I may disagree, do you really believe blanket bans at this juncture will result in the outcome you want?

It's not "purity politics" (as some say) to believe we are at the changing hearts and minds stage --that is, to **slow down** the affirmative train.

I understand you view it in that manner, and we favor the same end. However, I hope Republicans will take both the House and Senate and Pres Trump will be re-elected, so national legislation can be enacted to stop the train dead in its tracks. It's indefensible malpractice.
