Yes, I would not want to punish doctors, nurses, pharmacy-techs, etc... who are often overworked and doing their best. Many will be immigrants here on visas and it could jeopardize their status; a native-born doctor has no such fears.

There's also the question of the sort of backlash these efforts are engendering. A more moderate approach (e.g., require x months/years of therapy or exploration before prescribing blockers/hormones to minors) might generate less outrage/polarization & more reasoned discussion.

It's seems quite straightforward to me. Doctors take the Hippocratic oath. If they know they are administering treatment which has no clinical value and in fact will create serious physiological stresses on the body, then they shouldn't be practising medicine. Period.

Well stated. "Serious physiological stresses" is an understatement when you are talking about cutting off boys' penises and girls' breasts. Just because the APA or AMA "Approve" of these treatments should not shield doctors. This industry should be sued into bankruptcy.
