This person appears to think families claiming 2-5 trans kids is simply a function of trans people feeling more confident. Thoughts? https://twitter.com/eatenbyawhale/status/1203676091581435904 …

Not entirely sure that was the point I made, but please, interpret how you see fit.

The tweet you quoted was referring to hundreds of parents claiming multiple trans kids in their families.

Hundreds of families from hundreds of millions is not a terribly huge or scary figure. That aside, I would suggest speaking to charities and organisations supporting families with trans or gender questioning children before damning their entire existence.

Drawing public attention to an unusual phenomenon (which the sudden uptick in families claiming to have multiple trans kids certainly is) is not damning anyone's existence.

Some of the comments developing around these ideas are disgusting and accomplish very little except displaying a dangerous level of hate towards trans people and the people who support us. it’s clear what much of the audience of these tweets thinks.

Once upon a time (not long ago, actually) being "trans" was an adults-only proposition. Bringing children & teens into trans activism has raised public concern. In contrast, the gay rights movement did not bring kids into campaigns. Perhaps think about that difference.

I wouldn’t ever claim that trans people have done anything other than ask for acceptance. Families of trans kids have sought treatment, and those who object to their treatment have made them a point of debate.

The result.. trans people rightly get behind their right to rational measured care based in their individual needs.

"Rational and measured" when it comes to kids/youth isn't happening in North America. It still is, to some extent, in the UK, but activists there have fought for the affirm-only protocol being practiced across the pond. Therein lies the problem--and the backlash.
