Given that there is no other test than that of what we called the "real life test"... this is NOT bad advice... if one truly has BPD, they will be off blaming the next thing to come to mind. If they are truly GD, then T will have a happy effect.

I don't believe this. Sometimes, Kay, I think you generalize too much from the success of your own transition. If you disagree with me, fine. Perhaps we can agree that we need more data.

It's also pretty cavalier, when you're talking about putting a young teen on T just to see how she does, when she may or may not persist. Just talk to any detransitioned woman who regrets the irreversible changes wrought by testosterone.

Again.... that cavalier claim can and SHOULD be reflected back. This is NOT like someone is forcing these individuals to take what they don't want. But we do see people saying that we should force individuals to not take HRT that they need and want. Which is the more cavalier?

The original tweet was by a mom @JenniferHookham who was flippantly told to try T for her BPD kid--if it made her happy, cool. Many T effects are irreversible. Plenty of FTMs transition as adults & pass well. Putting a minor w/BPD on T just to see if she likes it is reckless.
