Its not cavalier, its just that we don't have any other way of testing. And I find it MORE cavalier to just ignore an honest request for medical intervention that may save an individual from the ravages of an unwanted puberty. This is why the puberty blocking protocol developed
-
Further, its truly cavalier to look someone in the face and say, "I don't care if you feel gender dysphoria that could be treated with HRT. I will only care about those who desist/detransition." So, don't try to turn this back on me as though I'M the one who is cavalier.

Again.... that cavalier claim can and SHOULD be reflected back. This is NOT like someone is forcing these individuals to take what they don't want. But we do see people saying that we should force individuals to not take HRT that they need and want. Which is the more cavalier?

The original tweet was by a mom
@JenniferHookham who was flippantly told to try T for her BPD kid--if it made her happy, cool. Many T effects are irreversible. Plenty of FTMs transition as adults & pass well. Putting a minor w/BPD on T just to see if she likes it is reckless.
