I do know about research methods. That's how I know this study is flawed to the point of uselessness.

Would you have the same complaints about targeted recruitment of trans kids from trans-supportive websites, support groups, or clinics? Because that's what Kristina Olson did for some of her studies. Because she wanted to study affirmed trans kids. See how this works?

That’s a good point. And Olson is a champion of affirming therapy.

I'd like to know if
@sjwdebates or@econbrkfst have a problem with the fact that Olson didn't recruit non-affirming parents for her studies; or with her finding her subjects in gender clinics that affirm kids. I don't, because what she was studying was....affirmed trans kids.2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

Did you read
@PsychRabble 's article I linked 2x? Everyone (not least Littman) is aware of the study's limitations--& it was republished. Everyone knows the next step is studying youth. But it doesn't follow that the survey of parents is crap. THAT is a biased viewpoint.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

You're making an important point. People tend to cherry-pick ideas/research/what-have-you that supports their viewpoint. We all do it. But trying to communicate across the divide can help sometimes. Thanks for trying. Hope you & your parents find a way to connect. It must hurt.
