Strange bedfellows and uncomfortable alliances are one thing, but I'm seeing a lot of parents who seem pleased as punch, downright eager to be working with "god hates f***" homophobes. If they don't dial it back several notches, and fast, they are going to be standing alone.

There are a lot of parents who feel they have been shafted by the left, by (liberal, but they might not see the distinction) feminism, by medicine and media and by LGBTQ+ orgs that are all about pushing T as the latest groovyist step on the path of progressiveness. >

Waiting for permission to speak, from the left, from media, from the sort of feminism with a voice, isn't going to feel like progress to parents whose kids are 6 months or less from a T script or mastectomy. >

Yes we have to be strategic, but we have to have a credible resistance for parents to pins their hopes to. In the UK we are lucky, we have WPUK, PP, Venice, Man Fridays, we had Magdalen, We gained a voice in the Times and the Mail, we had well known feminists like Bindel. >

Lost my dad 3hr ago so gonna take a pass other than say I've always been supportive of strategic coalition & really *anything* that will help reach a mainstream audience in helpful way. That's not my issue here. At all. But I very well may be misreading you in this moment.

You lost your dad? So sorry to hear that, if you're saying what it sounds like here?

He's been ill for many years and it it's probably a mercy to him, but it's been a tough day. A bit dissociated and having a hard time following threads but at least it's a distraction. It's a long flight away so there's not much to do at the moment. Thanks for asking.

I'm so sorry. Losing a parent is very hard, no matter when, no matter what the cause.
