And you aren't obliged to like or accept that not everyone agrees with your assessment of the situation. Maybe engage with her about why you believe her condescension is an issue. Might be more productive than the "turncoat" approach. You could also try to get her point.

You're the one who took issue with it. And, I really don't have a problem with the original tweet that inclined Brie, after being "done w/all this gender stuff," to make a huge thread castigating an organization doing some really fine work. Talk about being unproductive. hmmmmm

Why the hmmmmm? Just disagree. Do you HONESTLY BELIEVE Brie (or 4thWaveNow) get money from pharma?? You don't like what she said (and/or how she said it), or that she to criticized a tweet from an org. Fair enough. (And enough.)

No, I don't believe 4th wave now or Brie are getting $ from pharma. One mother lashed outbw/that becuz she was starting to sound like a pro trans episode of Oprah. The mom used the hashtag for my article. She was rightfully incensed & clarified that afterward. It was one tweet

NO ONE is creating a conspiracy out of this. You have both done incredible work which is y this is hitting ppl badly. Brie has had a wild turn here....singing a completely opposite tune than she's been & castigating another great group publickly while asking for amiability

One week she's fiercely against "transitioning" of children, understands & speaks abt the harms - very eloquently, I might add. It is a strength. Suddenly it's sometimes ok if kids r victims of this cult, if they're "of age?" And parents should just embrace their kids choices?

1. Not going to speak for Brie, but my take: When one is talking to or about legal adults--*particularly* when those over-18s vociferously disagree w/you--it's a different kettle of fish. Doesn't mean one shouldn't criticize the transition industry or advocate against harms, but

2. Even when you believe someone who is now legally adult has been gravely harmed, it’s not intrinsically an attack on parents or a lack of empathy to debate when and how it’s effective or desirable to publicly air some grievances. Disagreement does not equal betrayal.

3. Speaking as a parent whose legally adult child (though she desisted) publicly criticized some of the things I did during the time she was trans-identified in front of 1000s of ppl on YouTube, I think it’s important to be able to tolerate debate & constructive criticism.

Public debate & criticism of other groups doing vital work, & of parents in one of the worst times of their lives is ok - publicly & should be tolerated w/equanimity. But public displays of grief by same parents are not ok? So not ok that it needs a long condescending thread?

It's not about whether it's "ok"--it's just about people expressing different opinions and assuming honorable (vs nefarious) intentions all around. What should be "ok" is for us to disagree. We can tolerate each other, yes? Cheers.

A final thought: We all know extremist trans activists have made desistance a dirty word, when in a sane world, avoiding a life as a permanent medical patient is a preferable outcome. But how to talk with, for, & about those who persist (or have not yet desisted)? No easy answers

While perhaps not easy, I would argue that treatment is not subjective (see followup tweet) and that there are objective harms in medical transition that would fail the dictum "do no harm"
