Life experience. We gain skills out of necessity & interest & encouragement. We learn assertiveness through adversity, etc. This is not to say that there aren't slight differences, but our culture amplifies them. Certainly you acknowledge this.

Absolutely! But when someone is on the "tail" of the bell curve for sex-typical traits, it's less likely they were socialized to be that way (though certainly still possible).
