What a lot to unpack. Medicine is far less about treating disease than it is about achieving optimal health. Other mammals may not have the medical and surgical abilities to physically change gender, but trans behaviours have certainly been observed. 1/2

Whether it's a social construct or not, the question is whether non-human mammals can be "trans" and feel like their bodies are wrong. That's a separate question from whether they exhibit "gendered" characteristics.
