My daughters. Critical thinking, curiosity, honesty and a willingness to be wrong while looking for truth. Knowing the difference between subjective and objective reality, and recognizing how the former can be distorted. Having a background in psych helps but isn't sufficient.

Also, a mission of sorts to deprogram my sister, who's been entrenched in intersectional feminism & social justice, working at a state uni. Getting her to read

@Docstockk's and@SwipeWright's articles in Quillette got her to start questioning. Really affirming that I love and care for her, and want her to succeed, while being critical of her ideas, created enough dissonance that she couldn't just write me off.1 reply 0 retweets 44 likes -

There's a direct line from applied postmodernism and grievance studies a la
@ConceptualJames,@HPluckrose and@peterboghossian to transgender ideology, which is really well synthesized by the work of@BenjaminABoyce on his YouTube channel. ->1 reply 1 retweet 21 likes -

There is but it must be noted that most trans people don't subscribe to any ideology rooted in queer theory and just want to be left alone to live their lives without politicising or theorizing their gender identity.

If that is the case (and it may well be) "most" trans people aren't on social media.

They're just not identifying as trans & doing identity politics. Women & PoC are highly visible & so its evident to everyone that the majority are not SocJus ideologues. Trans people are not. They're not always 'out' especially on social media where they don't have to be.

The strongest evidence of this is that whereas there used to be twice as many MtF & this was thought to be coz men have greater variability generally, there are suddenly twice as many FtM & this seems likely to be that girls are particularly likely to take it on as an identity.

Corinna has been around the block and is MTF. Her observations are pretty meaningful.

I'm sure they are. I also think the statistics are meaningful tho.

Right, but we don't have statistics (as you noted) on the different groups of trans people/how many and how they view queer/identity politics. If you look at the large LGBT advocacy groups (like GLAAD, HRC, etc), they're all-in with the extreme views.
