I've heard it said that, in the UK ate least, a great many desisters just walk away from the clinics and never come back so they never appear on statistics.

But they don't sign off or anything like that. Statistically they are not desisters.

Maybe it's different in the UK, but in the US, even if desisters/detransitioners DID return to clinics to announce their decision, there is no requirement that doctors or psychologists track that information or reveal it to the public.

It's shameful that at this point in time, we have so little institutional information and follow-up on detransitioning and desisting people, no real numbers. Must not be any money in helping them.

They may feel easier with just disappearing out of the system so there will be no external pressures upon them.
