1. Latest leak from our source in the affirming parents Facebook group: Dr. Beverly Fischer in Baltimore, MD is offering a $750 discount on double mastectomies if booked during Pride month, according to this mother.pic.twitter.com/Od9w0TFXPp

5. Not everyone in this affirmative-parent FB group thinks a 12-year-old has the wherewithal to make the decision to have both breasts removed, but the original poster and supporters beg to differ. "This is harmful content."pic.twitter.com/Ju7LNeZMYe
6. Dr. Fischer's professional website promotes the Tumblr page they run. "If you had top surgery with Dr. Fischer, tag photos of your chest." https://www.beverlyfischer.net/gender-affirmation-center/ …pic.twitter.com/Qyw4RRQJdF
7. We know who's on Tumblr. It's not (for the most part) adults. Fischer's Tumblr site is "DrBevsBoys". But (besides the original poster in Tweet 1 in this thread and her 12-yr-old) does Fischer do double mastectomies on other tweens/teens? https://drbevsboys.tumblr.com/ pic.twitter.com/eArAjZ5XYL
8. On the ask_Transgender Reddit, users promote Dr. Fischer as someone who does surgeries on 14-year-olds. (And they got this right: "There are no rules or laws in the US about transition.") https://www.reddit.com/r/ask_transgender/comments/60n1gh/can_i_get_top_surgery_when_im_14/ …pic.twitter.com/mB9cZ7C2Gz
9. More from the affirming parent FB group. 14-yr-olds. Fischer is a star.pic.twitter.com/tnHP9oBchf
If there is social contagion influencing gender-dysphoric teens, there is another--perhaps even more powerful--social contagion affecting parents. It's on full display in this Facebook forum.
It's unbelievable. I understood that even a breast reduction operation on a girl with hugely heavy breasts had to wait till at least 16 because the breast tissue was still developing.
And did you notice the survey that reported the miraculous 0% regret rate only had 38% response? Any guesses where we should look for the regretful patients? (Given the prevalence of post-mastectomy breast pain, I'm sceptical that as many as 38% of patients would have no regret.)
I would have no words but I’ve worked and adopted out of the foster care system so nothing surprises me anymore about the cruel and stupid things people do to children.
