How many of these gender therapists honestly explore with their teenage, self-identified gay trans men clients the dating trouble they might have, lacking a penis (if they want to date gay men), or appearing too masculinized (if they want to date straight men)?

On the flip side, do these gender therapists feel any responsibility to talk to their teenage, self-identified"straight" trans men clients about trouble attracting straight women partners ? Or lesbians who would formerly have been in their dating pool but are now turned off?

These are TEENAGERS. They are still learning about relationships. Can anyone who has been through this experience speak to these questions? Did your therapist explore possible problems w/a shrinking dating pool, or help you figure out how to handle it?

More on the straight boyfriend. There are an unprecedented number of straight and bisexual teen females undergoing medical transition nowadays. Who is helping them understand what it will mean for them when they go on T and/or have double mastectomy? Is ANYONE helping them?pic.twitter.com/x9rQdYCq9c

It simply isn't fair to enable or encourage a teen to undergo irreversible medical intervention, without first fully exploring with one's client ALL the ramifications of that treatment--social, emotional, psychological, physical. That takes time, & it's not "conversion therapy"!

A few have misinterpreted this tweet thread. The point is NOT that youth who take T or have mastectomies can't find love. The onus is on therapists who enable those treatments: In this age of informed consent/affirmation, how many delve into the complexities & possible problems?

In other words, THIS (about the therapist who approved T in two visits): "None of those things should have qualified me to be a candidate for hormone replacement therapy. All of those things should have been taken into consideration by my therapist."pic.twitter.com/pLETmhcRBB

This is why trans people usually date each other.

OMG. “Pronoun circle”. Barely into it and it already sounds like an insane cult. Do they hand out personality tests, too?
