"We're not against detransitioners! Perish the thought! But if they say *themselves* their experiences fit w/Dr. Littman's findings, that's gross." How much more proof do we need that certain activists don't give a sh**t about a certain population of (mostly female) regretters?https://twitter.com/ButNotTheCity/status/1126266639941603328 …

Detransitioners are only a problem if they AGREE with Dr. Littman's findings. Then they'll get added to the sh**t list maintained by (mostly) male-born "researchers" who have a curious need to deny the "lived experience" of (mostly) female-born detransitioners. Funny, that.pic.twitter.com/T2lqhqPTPN

Ashley has been ranting ever since Littman's paper came out. Awfully inconvenient when actual detransitioners corroborate what those clueless, bigoted parents observed. So Ashley has to go after them, too--the "lived experience" of those women be damned.https://impactethics.ca/2018/09/21/rapid-onset-gender-dysphoria-a-parental-epidemic/amp/?__twitter_impression=true …

Young and pubescent... full of hormones and some awakening to adulthood. A volatile time. Absolutely the strong time to give counter sex hormones. Treatment clinics for teens and children should be about working with their desperation and finding ways to wait until adults.

Ashley also has a peculiar investment in trying to dismiss/explain away the huge uptick in females presenting to gender clinics in the last 5 years. https://www.florenceashley.com/uploads/1/2/4/4/124439164/ashley_shifts_in_assigned_sex_ratios_in_gender_identity_clinics_likely_reflect_change_to_referral_patterns.pdf …

“We generally trust what other people say about their own mental states,” wrote Ashley, a fellow of the McGill Research Group on Health and Law. “If someone says, ‘My arm hurts,’ we typically grant credence to their claims. < Um not the same!!

If a 15-yr-old tells a doc their arm hurts, yeah, the doc should trust the teen's feelings. But the teen doesn't generally get to say how to do the x-rays and set the broken bone. Pathetic analogy.

So when are you submitting your brief to the court supporting the overturning of Roe v Wade?

This sounds like it’s straight out of the anti-psychiatry handbook. That was around in the 70s. Claiming that the idea any mental illness of any sort existed was just persecution. They did a lot of harm.
