      1. THREAD: Leaked posts from affirming-parents FB group. Moms discuss various ways to hide their 6-8-year-old's penises, with help from an instructional video by Dr. Johanna Olson-Kennedy at the Gender Odyssey conference.

      2. "Well-endowed" 7-year-old with ADHD is constantly "adjusting herself" and it's becoming an issue at school. Maybe a reward system (like a sticker chart) would help limit the behavior to bathroom time?pic.twitter.com/emlQEyEVRn

      3. Maybe a bracelet to distract from the "fidgeting" for this child with sensory processing issues? But wait--an MD at Gender Odyssey made a YouTube teaching how to make a gaff out of a headband or a sock.pic.twitter.com/xou3xixm7A

      4. Some moms voice concern: Is it safe to tuck a first or second grader's penis, who hasn't gone through puberty? If Dr. Johanna Olson Kennedy Children's Hospital LA approves the practice, and even recommends a certain headband brand (Claire's), it must be OK.pic.twitter.com/oH5FCfcS6Y

      5. Alternate suggestion: It might be more comfortable to pull up instead of pushing down. After all, "even cis girls have a little bump" and a skort or tunic will hide it anyway.pic.twitter.com/Et18vZAPcL

      6. We're adding our usual caveat: These parents are doing what gender docs & therapists encourage or (in this case) suggest. If Olson-Kennedy--who runs the largest & best known gender clinic in the US-- teaches parents how to make gaffs for 1st graders, who can blame these moms?

I blame these parents. They haven't been lobotomised by Olsen Kennedy. They are not only failing to recognise grooming and abuse, they are activelly participating in it. There is no way they aren't aware of tenuous grounds for their children's diagnosis, they are reinforcing it.

Yes. If they aren't aware, they so easily could be. It is their responsibility to find the necessary information and they can very easily do so. If they choose not to, that definitely is on them.

Yes, but: it's hard to overestimate the power of licensed professionals telling you your child will COMMIT SUICIDE if you don't affirm them in every way.

Yees ... but research would show them that this is in fact not the truth. They choose to not do the research and instead choose to trust those professionals. Who, obviously to absolutely everyone, are earning money and prestige on giving that particular advice.

You are absolutely right, I know what heartless manipulation and grooming of both parents and kids is going on in these clinics, but analysing these tweets, there's so much more than heartbroken concern, there's glee and rather abusive discussion of what to do to these kids.

This ... !! They seem HAPPY to have a child who is going through all this confusion and anguish. It all gives the impression of these people, or I should say these mothers, being pleased with the specialness having such a child confers on them.

Having these special children confers a specialness on the mothers. It means they can believe that they themselves are so much more interesting and unique than they deep down fear that they are.
