...we say desistance is real. We've seen it in our own families. It's not "bigotry" to believe trans-identified young people ought to move slowly, to avoid undergoing irreversible treatments they may regret in the future.

Certain activists & clinicians who push for affirm-only intervention claim desistance is a "myth" or only applies to kids who "aren't really trans" or are merely gender nonconforming. Clearly this is not the case, per one of the most experienced researcher-clinicians in the world
