None of that constitutes a control group. Because Olson operates from a profound confirmation bias, or "hypothesis in hand.": "Gender identity" is some innate essence, end of. She's not interested in understanding causality, *why* a child believes they're the opp sex.

In an earlier study of Olson's, children were shown pictures of prepubescent kids and asked who they identified with. The pictured kids had haircuts/clothes typical for their sex. Surprise! These gender atypical kids "identified with" the opp-sex kids. What did this prove?

Olson's studies only show that gender-atypical kids gravitate to behaviors & attire of opp-sex children--because they're ATYPICAL. Since there is no control group of gender-atypicals who aren't socially transitioned, they prove nothing more than that. Confirmation bias galore.
