Preverbal children know their "gender identity" by age 2 and probably earlier, and send "gender messages." Hating barrettes/hairclips or unsnapping a onesie/babygro are possible signs a baby is transgender.

The question for Ehrensaft et al is do they believe toddlers who shoot people (a sad reality in the U.S.) should be held criminally liable? If they're sophisticated enough to grasp and express gender, why can't they be presumed to understand acts and consequences, life and death?

This insanity can't be shared enough! Jazz jennings mother is quoted saying that at 15 months, Jazz unsnapped his onsie to make a dress...now almost 18 yr.s later, Jazz has a man-made vagina! :(

Why not consider the onesie is too small instead of a signal that the child is trans? My babies of both sexes always seemed to be running around with flapping onesies.

With all this talk of brains being born in the wrong body, I’m beginning to wonder why no one is recommending brain transplants. I’m warming to the idea and would like to start a list of potential recipients.

What the hell!!!! If you are pre-verbal you can not possibly know about gender identity. One year olds have barely mastered the concept of object permanence & we are supposed to believe they comprehend what it means to be in the wrong body.

Can people honestly not see that a lot of this is about seeing male and female as 1950s-style sex stereotypes?
