Hi, I'm a trans man who knew they were trans at 12, socially transitioned at 15/16, and began medically transition as soon as I could after that. I also want @PLOSONE to retract the study. https://twitter.com/4th_WaveNow/status/1083549899541499905 …

@JayHulmePoet Why is#ROGD a threat? As you say, you are doing great. Great. But what works for you, doesn't equate to what works best for someone else. In fact, for some, they get worse--much worse. Why not just say#ROGD is a different type of GD? Which it is. -
I'd assume because acceptance of the theory affects treatment for both those who, presuming it's an accurate description of the phenomenon, have ROGD *and* those who merely have normal late-onset GD. It's not easy to see the difference looking externally, almost by definition.

The ROGD study is constantly condemned by people who deny it defines them. So why not say "I don't fit the ROGD profile. But if a lot of young people are mistakenly self-diagnosing as trans and medically transitioning, more study & caution seem appropriate."

That is a good question. I think that would have been tactically superior for trans activists (especially those MTFs who had been husbands and fathers) and stayed closer to the facts.
