Right. But what's "rapid" is the dysphoria. It can happen to both lesbians and straight girls. What differentiates it from the type more extensively studied is the lack of any discomfort about one's sex in earlier childhood.

Yes. In the US, immediate affirmation is robbing young women of the time to really stop and consider whether it's the right decision. You're lucky to have clinicians in the NHS who understand this.
