These orgs have sprung up across the US. Always w/ glossy professional websites, most using Orwellian term "gender expansive" when referring to children. (If they expand gender why do they *restrict* by labeling them "trans" "nonbinary" or "gender queer"?) http://standwithtrans.org/faq/ pic.twitter.com/hN1mHlBgvs
Stand with Trans says their primary focus is youth aged 12-22. They recommend the "In a Bind" program (TransActive Gender Center), which specializes in providing binders to minors--secretly, if necessary. List of SRS surgeons also provided. http://standwithtrans.org/resources/ pic.twitter.com/ygiSJ1tSA6
"In a Bind strives to create a feeling of 'taking care of our own' within the trans adult community." Their "own." https://www.transactivegendercenter.org/binding-faq pic.twitter.com/cea6kGijiT
I take it as good news that they don't even pretend to include LGB kids in this. The more that people drop the fiction that LGBs share an identity with Ts, the better the world will be for LGB youth.
Maybe not careful enough. http://standwithtrans.org/faq/ pic.twitter.com/ITUjVpAWHc
And some very high-profile accounts have been giving this publicity, such as @anildash, with half a million followers.
If I were a parent who found out their kid had called this outfit behind my back at their instigation, I would sue them.https://twitter.com/ystriyahysteria/status/1077782586968207360 …
Certainly does NOT sound like they are reaching out to ADULTS! I'm quite suspicious of thier wording also!
