Desisters who were supported fully by parents (but not endorsed that their bodies were wrong) would also be studied by ethical investigators. They matter too, no matter what the overall rate of desistance turns out to be (only to be known via longterm longitudinal studies).

Do you know of anyone in your field who intends to study that population? Not only parents, but desisters/detransitioners have been clamoring for it. You can't blame them for interpreting the lack of interest expressed by affirmative researchers as a lack of caring.

Hellooooo! Why do you think I started following y’all & talking with James? But if everyone who is perceived as the enemy gets insulted from the first word, there’s not much opportunity for anything else is there?

Actually what happened is you jumped in the binder thread with one tweet about suicidality. This is what people were reacting to. Try to understand that.

That's not what you said, though. You jumped straight to "suicide or transition" in the baldest way possible. You sounded like an extremist trans activist, not a clinician. It's not the way to engage ethically w/ people who you claim to be listening to.pic.twitter.com/V6nAotKnY1

Full disclosure: The person you're tweeting with right now (me) happens to be the mother of a daughter who desisted. I did not agree to binders or medical transition. She is now 21 and glad for it. If you want to listen, be open to stories like ours and consider the implications.

And my son only developed dysphoria after he started cross dressing. I'm terrified to think about what will happen when/if he starts hormones ( he's planning on it, ASAP).
