2/ Does a great job condescending to elders, who need to reeducate themselves (foolish grandparents) about this newfangled gender thing. Ehrensaft and Gender Spectrum can help with this self-crit project. The kids are always right!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJFWB1EJl4E …

3/ Right around 15:00, Ehrensaft counsels grandparents to let their transboy grandchild "do the things you get to do if you're a boy." http://Get.to.do . Child: "Because I AM one." (Maybe "I am one" because I have to BE one to get to do the things I want to do...)

4/ At 16:00 Ehrensaft tells of a child ("they") who wanted a toolkit for Xmas, but never got one coz "girls don't get toolkits." Kid: "The reason I want that toolkit is I think I'm a boy." Grandparents buy the kit, kid is overjoyed. But...

5 / In this meant-to-be-heartwarming advice segment, developmental psych Ehrensaft doesn't take the opportunity to ALSO say, "And grandma, it's also great to buy a granddaughter a toolkit if she asks." The omission is glaring/pulls back the curtain on how regressive this all is.

6/ Around 18:00: "There's no ally like a grandparent." Because that's what this is all about--allyship & complying w/ the idea--despite your own decades of experience & any misgivings you might have--that your granddaughter is really your grandson.

7/ 21:00ish: So to sum up, grandparents, Gender Spectrum provides lots of ways to "work out your feelings" and accept this gender stuff being shoved down your throat. But if all else fails, there are also "mental health gender specialists" who can help you too!

Who's funding her to spout this poison? Anybody know what Dads think about their sons being made into daughters? Men need to enter this debate.

There is so much in this to cause concern but I am struck by her perpetuating the myth that adoption is entirely unproblematic and 'altruistic' or that a 12 year old could possibly understand the implications of raising a non bio child.

What 12-year-old thinks about being a parent (bio or adoptive) one day? Of course they have a facile response when told they will be permanently sterilized! It means nothing to a kid at that age.
