I did a long post tying up some loose ends about my Atlantic article and the response to it, and debunking some bad journalism and misconceptions (on ewww "both sides") about the link between gender dysphoria and traumahttps://medium.com/@jesse.singal/gender-dysphoria-trauma-and-online-misinformation-59a0ed43d275 …

2/As I explain in the post, I'm less worried about outlets that misinterpreted what I wrote than articles that got basic matters of the science wrong. In this case, I really hope Slate and ThinkProgress fix one error in particular, since it could spread harmful misinformation.

3/ Anyone who uses the fact that desistance exists or that trauma sometimes leads to dysphoria to point to an individual kid and say "S/He shouldn't transition!" is making a really grave error. Gotta stamp out this habit, because it's more complicated than that.

1/Major journalists in the UK are writing about the fact that it's primarily girls, many autistic (or yes, trauma survivors), who are showing up in gender clinics. It's a "grave error" also not to look at why it's mostly females. Don't you think? https://twitter.com/VictoriaPeckham/status/1065334603660038145 …
