Am interested to know what the duty is for a doctor treating a trans person. I've read somewhere that in UK a trans person is recorded as the sex correlating with their gender ID at their GP. The duty must be to treat their bodies so this obviously must cause a conflict.

Thanks. How do you negotiate eg if someone is complaining of stomach pain which could be sex related eg uterus in a trans man, particularly with someone who is sensitive with regard to their birth sex? What about sending for tests, if someone is registered in the gender ID sex 1/

you must need to override their registered sex to enable proper testing to be done. What about sex specific conditions which may not be considered in an initial verbal consultation with a trans person registered in the gender ID sex. It just seems like a minefield to me where 2/

doctors must be put in a very difficult position or is it not that much of a problem? Sorry if i'm sounding naive! 3/3

Sorry, I'd have to defer to someone working in the UK on that. Thankfully in the US biological reality is not yet illegal.

"Yet" is the operative word. The US establishment is even more entrenched in extremist transgender doctrine than in the UK.

Do you think a critical mass of MDs (for the AMA) and/or pediatricians (for the AAP) could have an impact in changing their stated policies? A letter or petition signed by hundreds or thousands of docs?

So when an MD IS a member of (say) the AAP, & the AAP issues a policy w/wide-ranging impact/implications (like the one they just did), is there any way to reach member docs? Do they just not care if a policy is issued in their name even if they are skeptics or actually oppose it?
