Moehlig goes on to say that her org has helped 100+ families get double mastectomy for their minor girls paid for by insurance, and that MANY surgeons will do it. Credit where it's due: Sane clinician questions the "47% suicide attempt rate." /5pic.twitter.com/3fXDC3WXvI

Many people working very hard, with some success at twisting the arms of insurance companies. And Johanna Olson-Kennedy's recent paper on double mastectomies for patients as young as 13 is being used in insurance appeals. /6pic.twitter.com/Azz8F09XUj

Dr. Olson-Kennedy herself makes an appearance (1 hour ago) to offer a "template" for insurance denials, and a link to her study of double mastectomy, with the study cohort including patients as young as 13 and 14 years old. /8 https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/article-abstract/2674039 …pic.twitter.com/Y8RaGhIGKP

There's much more in the thread, and no doubt, more to come. The subject of double mastectomy for minors under 18 is a popular one, and activists are keen that there be no lower age limit for the procedure. My favorite.... "Sombody is looking at our open conversation!" Then they call people slurs and at the same time fear being doxxed. Finally the crazy come out... beaten, raped AND murdered. Such professionals. So honest and morally solid. This thread should go to insurance.pic.twitter.com/7zAljcR33u

So they CHOOSE to discuss their campaign to force insurance companies to pay for under 18 mastectomies on a public FB page, but object when anyone draws attention to it? Someone in the thread suggested it's a "hate crime", and someone else talked about being "doxxed"?

They are serious re: pushing for underage mastectomies. This well known MD--again, speaking on a PUBLIC FB PAGE--even suggests it's "illegal" for insurance companies to refuse to pay to remove the breasts of a minor. That's not what nondiscrimination means.

Here they are on Twitter pressuring insurance companies with "suicide or transition." Note especially the $$$ appeal to lawyers.pic.twitter.com/9DZ5nVpNIV

Interestingly, Luikenaar was herself sued for (allegedly) the malpractice of removing both ovaries in a "nonbinary" patient without permission.https://4thwavenow.com/2017/07/30/nonbinary-patient-sues-utah-md-who-removed-both-ovaries/ …
