The comments on this thread re a descriptive cohort study by @LisaLllittman, esp by @PLOSONE in suggesting that these are grounds for somehow reviewing its publication, are concerning. The answer to speech (or science) we don’t like is more speech (or science). | @jessesingal https://twitter.com/Brown_SPH/status/1032634718586580992 …

Far right websites? The study itself says 85.9% of respondents support same-sex marriage & 88.2% believe trans people deserve same rights as everyone else. Doesn’t sound like far right to me. People should read things before opining on them.

"Ashencat" has blocked us. We would like to see the evidence that 4thWaveNow is a "far right" site which wants to "criminalize" transition. These are the typical lies told by those who want to suppress research into the uptick in teen girls presenting with gender dysphoria.pic.twitter.com/zXyPywFC3v

We urge everyone on this thread to visit www.4thwavenow. Assess for yourself whether our writers are "explicitly hateful," "lobby to ban medical transition," etc. You've cherrypicked from article comment sections. Might as well screen grab RW comments from WaPo or NYT. /1

Here's our comment policy--similar to any blog or news outlet. Might as well label the NYT or WaPo "rightwing" based on commenter opinion. All that said, we aren't a monolith but we make abundantly clear that our core group is overwhelmingly center and left of center parents. /2pic.twitter.com/xDO5ycOuwW
