Lurie Children's Hospital, a hub of "affirmative" care, advertises for adult trans mentors for teen. "TransMentor pairs transgender, gender expansive, and gender questioning youth ages 13-20 with trans and gender expansive adults."https://www.luriechildrens.org/transmentor

It could be used badly, but I think of something like this would have been the most helpful thing for me growing up, especially if there were some GNC people who ended up not physically transitioning but still having a lot of similarities to that community were there.

Isn't that the problem, though? We aren't seeing calls for GNC mentors, who might encourage youth to perhaps come to terms with their bodies w/out having to undergo medical transition?

"Mentees Must identify as transgender, non-binary, on the gender spectrum, and/or gender questioning" I feel like that is a call out to other gender non-conforming people who might not medically transition.

Fair enough. But Lurie, under the direction of Dr. Garofalo, is one 4 pediatric gender clinics which are most committed to medical transition of minors and the "affirmative" model.pic.twitter.com/0DzkkZYg1c
