Impeachment didn't make him reject the WHO test and waste weeks getting a functioning test out to the states. Impeachment didn't make him claim there'd be zero cases within a "few days" at the end of February. Impeachment didn't make him ignore intelligence agency warnings.

Furthermore, Congress was receiving classified briefings about the coronavirus DURING the impeachment trial. Information which concerned them enough to… sell off stock which would be negatively affected.

Regardless, this GOP argument essentially admits that Trump can't multitask and couldn't focus resources which were 100% unaffected by the impeachment process on the coronavirus threat.

This "impeachment is responsible" argument is just the new "China is responsible" argument. By February 5, impeachment was over AND China was shutting down 2/3rds of its country. There was zero reason for Trump to be "distracted" and to not think this threat was very serious.

Instead of taking the threat seriously, he called it a "hoax" propagated by Democrats and the media to make him look bad. That's 100% on him.
