Yeah, I don’t know how I feel about this either. Was the brother somehow made to feel like he “should” do this to show he was the bigger person? Or did it genuinely help him in his healing process? It all depends on whether it facilitated healing or furthered trauma.

In the Black community it is expected. You don’t have to actually pressure it out either. It’s the Christian thing to do and on a general scale we’ve learned to be like this to be more palatable and acceptable

This diminishes his incredible act of compassion, 1 human being to another. This is the sort of kindness we say we as Christians should practice toward others but when 1 does his motives are questioned. Very sad.
