Truth. Attendance matters. I am not sure how we convince children that their education matters when teachers unions devalued education by keeping schools closed. What message did that send to students? This is the result.

It sent the message that teachers didn’t want anyone to die to go to school. Hence virtual classes until it was safer to meet in person.

It sounds like you’re saying parents deserve the power to dictate everything that happens in the classroom, but then they don’t have any responsibility to actually get their student to the classroom. It’s good that you’re a former school board member.

Schools were closed due to a pandemic. You are basically saying that attendance is more important than safety. It's no wonder that this country handled covid so poorly when people like you are in office.
