Fadi Washaha, who studied at Birzeit University, was shot by the Israeli occupation during a peaceful protest against the recent attack on Gaza. He passed away today, June 2, 2021. The memory of Fadi, and all who gave their lives for a free Palestine, lives on in our hearts.

A must-read piece by , a brilliant writer & poet from Gaza. Mosab's piece offers a glimpse into the human experience during the war. His writing lets you experience what he, a father, a neighbor, and a brother experienced as the bombs fell.

My colleagues are rushing to give the Israeli military another billion dollars to fund apartheid, meanwhile our education system, our health care system, our housing system all remain underfunded. Our communities need that $1 billion. Send it to us instead.

Going to Palestine every summer as a kid doesn’t make you more authenticity Palestinian, it makes you so privileged. Your parents weren’t undocumented, weren’t poor, weren’t wanted by Israel, your family wasn’t expelled from Palestine—recognize your privilege, dont demean others.

A patient I had helped manage finally succumbed to her injuries. She joins her 2 daughters, both killed when the Israeli airforce leveled their home on top of them. She leaves behind her nephew whom she raised after his parents were killed in the 2014 war. Her name is Diana.

Israel killed four generations from the al-Kawlak family in Gaza. FOUR GENERATIONS LIVED IN A THREE-STORY BUILDING, WHICH ISRAEL BOMBED IN A MATTER OF SECONDS, LEAVING THIS RELATIVE ALIVE TO COUNT THE NAMES IN 33 SECONDS. Still, some people make this about how their feelings!!

Now that the world is opening up again and I’m seeing friends I haven’t seen in over a year, people keep asking me if I plan to have another baby. And it feels dark and morbid to tell them “I promised during the last offensive to have one more after what Israel did to those kids”

Went to my favorite seaside restaurant in Gaza, Abu Hassera Seafood, and his menu options have doubled now that fisherman can go as far and deep into the sea as they please. I had fire roasted lobster and stuffed squid for the first time!
