Just this morning I cut the ribbon on the new 8 classroom annex at Prussing School. In all, we have injected our schools with over $40 million to provide 30 additional classrooms and a pre-K center at St. Cornelius to address overcrowding.

Independence Park and West Walker welcomed a new state-of-the-art Independence Branch Library with 44-units of affordable senior housing units. We were able to usher in the first comprehensive renovation to the Jefferson Park Branch Library since it was first built in 1979.

We have fought for increased transparency and oversight at City Hall. We have fought for fiscal reform for how the city accrues its debt and for how they enter privatization deals. We have fought for an elected school board and we have fought for TIF reform.

The $25 million renovation of the Jefferson Park Transit Center & the creation of the Jefferson Park Master Plan will be cornerstones of a renewed ‘downtown’. The 4 density developments either under construction or breaking ground this spring will infuse new life into Jeff Park.
