Admittedly I was skeptical but the Bluesky team understands Vibes. If we can keep Jack at arm's length I think we have something here. Twitter is circling the drain in a way I've never seen and it's honestly just a matter of time.

And if you were affected by this wholly cruel change to parental leave, Elon has again broken the promises in the deal and you should absolutely seek counsel.

If you were impacted by the recent updates to Twitter's global parenting program (reducing from 20 to 2 weeks), especially in the state of CA, please reach out. As someone who was laid off while pregnant, and then didn't qualify for my new employer's mat leave policy in time,

Yes I still lurk here from time to time. Two reasons: 1. Nothing has replaced the NBA Twitter timeline...yet 2. Days like today where it is so very entertaining watching Elmo and the all-in podcast guys find new ways to relentlessly shit their pants trying to run this website

<steps out of hibernation> If you were just let go from Twitter, you're likely to be offered just 1 month of severance after WARN. Talk to a lawyer and consider joining the thousands of others coming together to hold the new leadership accountable to their promises. 馃

<steps out of hibernation> scary: i'm told that folks who believed they largely purged their account of tweets are noticing random tweets showing back up in their profile timeline. same for purged DMs. i observed as much on my own account. check your own to corroborate?

4) What we've been subject to through this ordeal is beyond the pale. But there are strength in numbers and a vibrant and supportive community of ex-Tweeps out here to help you. I'm still in the market for my next move, but I'll drop everything to help you - and others will, too.

3) I encourage you to pursue these arbitration demands if you were an impacted employee. This means not signing the severance agreement and instead retaining counsel. I also hold no judgment if you decide to sign, take the month of payment, and divest yourself of the whole thing.

2) Twitter owes every employee it terminated during the post-merger layoffs the severance they were promised. These broken promises caused me and thousands of others to make materially detrimental personal decisions, like delaying seeking other work.

1) I have not signed the ridiculous severance agreement and have joined a mass arbitration seeking the full amount I was promised by both the merger agreement and documented Twitter policy.

Now that I'm officially separated from Twitter and there's not a risk of being denied my final WARN payment, I'm momentarily coming out of hibernation to share the following:

This product and company have meant the world to me. It was born and thrived in open imperfection and had plenty of self inflicted wounds along the way. But the people and communities who built it with vibrancy and weirdness and fun were so very special.

"Twitter 2.0" is intentionally cruel, driven by top-down petty vindictiveness and conspiratorial dog whistling. It's now fully embedded in the network's zeitgeist. The leadership - even beyond top brass - show a willingness to advance its ugly mission or hide in complicity.

I gave nearly 7 professional years and over 14 personal years to Twitter, but it's time to say goodbye. For now? Forever? I've made peace with it if it's the latter.

Primo was the catalyst for every big adventure in our adult lives. He taught us to skip the to-dos and how to share in unabashed love. He changed minds about pitbulls and rescues. Escaping his own rough past, he rehabbed ten fosters. I will miss him terribly. Love you, bud. 鉂わ笍
