Fear mongering, really? This "deal" was at Haight & Masonic 4.5 months ago when D5 neighbors were begging unresponsive @DeanPreston for help because we were being threatened by the dealers in HIS TENTS and his aides told us to be compassionate...7 ODs on our block. @chesaboudinpic.twitter.com/Nfr0RtULSh

Of course you and I and the others like us who have lived here for decades want a safe clean neighborhood and a leader who plays well with all. That's why I voted for Dean. But the unhoused are our neighbors too, and just telling them to get lost doesn't solve anything.

Glad you want a clean neighborhood but it's not what we have or what Preston's actions have given us. Agree to disagree on an unapproachable candidate who for months ignored pleas for help and so now invents his own narrative. The refugee camp I volunteered in was cleaner than D5

@DeanPreston publicly dismisses us &our experiences &tells us we don't know what is happening on on our literal doorsteps. We have had violent experiences regarding encampments. It is unsafe for folks w/roofs it is very unsafe for folks w/o roofs. It isn't fear mongering its real -
The last brawl at Clayton and Haight was started by a pair of bridge and tunnel kids who came to the Haight looking for trouble (as they do). Nobody is saying that homeless encampments on the sidewalks are good or desirable - for anyone. But just telling (1/2)
