I'm as a big a Frazetta fan as the next person, but I find his LOTR work really problematic. They were controversial at the time: F. said 'Wow, I thought the Burroughs fans were particular, but the Tolkien fans were REALLY picky' (from 'Testament' edited by Arnie & Cathy Fenner)
