this movie would have been terrible, even worse than the lynch version, and it's long past time we admitted this.

Yeah, I’d watch the f out of this Dune. What I know will be an unfulfilled wish would be to sit with Jodorowsky while I thumb through his proposal book and he tells me stories of what was almost.

Reminds me of the Thundercats. This would be a great cartoon. Release them as action figures for the nerds. I mean film buffs.

The fella in blue with two swords is either Gurney Hallack or Duncan Idaho I can’t quite figure which.
-
I'm still trying to identify if any are wearing shield belts and if that's a Sardaukar or a Fremen on the right
-
If I had to guess the one with the big crest center right is Sardukar and the Fremen is on the far right cause that looks like a stilsuit.
-
there are apparently multiple sardaukar designs? the first one has house atreides colors on the cloak and the corresponding gold-handled plasteel sword thoughpic.twitter.com/EpTfcJKdB5

Oh I've seen it. :D There's a great interview with Giraud where he talks about how weird working with Jodo was, but also how inspiring.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dT2nkC8B2NA …

Unpopular opinion: I’m glad this was never made. I respect the passion but AJ also admitted he basically wasn’t making a dune movie so much as adapting a fever dream he had and calling it dune for marketing purposes
-
Yes, the art looks cool. But I’m sick of people saying it would’ve been great just because of that. I’d rather have a good movie and a good dune movie
-
I don’t think dune is completely unadaptable either. I think what it needs is a filmmaker more interested in telling Herbert’s story than being self-indulgent. Not a slight against Lynch either- I think he was just a directorial miscast
