Still the best illustrations in the entire series. Book 7 gets some good ones in one version, but those are also done by Whelan. Doesn’t seem like anyone else can really capture the feel of the series in art form like he can.

Whelan's ability to depict spaces with such a sense of grandeur has always reminded me of how a great author could depict the environment with a couple words. I love Whelan. And although I prefer Roland to be faceless (TDT is my favourite book/series), I am content with how Roland is drawn for books and comics. The only thing I totally ignore is the film :D I never wanted the books to be filmed :)
