but why did he have to do it? he was not obliged. I liked it for its crudity and because it took place in a real world, with paranormal elements, but in a real world, in a sort of late middle ages, not in a fantasy world

It was fantasy since the beginning m8, or did you forget about the feast and the god hand? Imo berserk wouldn't survive with the same old "guts is rage and kill monsters and suffer" the story must move on

it was not a typical fantasy, it took place in a real world, the paranormal element was something mysterious and human beings in front of it had reactions as we would have them. and the story could have continued in that way, or even ended without proceeding forcefully

I see what you mean, i personally like the changes though, i love the fantasy elements and guts party (the children are annoying some times but guts is still the same) i dont think he could kick griffiths ass without some help
