The first of the series of YA anthologies published by Random House ghost-edited mostly by Robert Arthur, but this one was instead edited by YA specialist Muriel Fuller; 2 more, after Arthur died in 1969, were edited by Henry Veit. Arthur also devised the Three Detectives series.
